ReceiptStub Privacy Policy

ReceiptStub ("the app") is developed by Hasan Berat Gürbüz ("we", "us", or "our"). ReceiptStub is designed to scan and organize receipts privately on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal data through ReceiptStub. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or a developer-operated server.

Your receipt images, recognized text, purchased items, prices, categories, budgets, tags, learned corrections, and app settings are not sent to us or to third parties.

On-Device Processing

Receipt recognition and analysis are performed on your device using Apple-provided technologies. When supported by your device and enabled in the app, advanced analysis also runs on device. Receipt images and extracted receipt data are not uploaded for processing.

Data Stored on Your Device

ReceiptStub may store the following information locally on your device:

• Receipt images and thumbnails, depending on the image-retention option you select.
• Recognized receipt text, merchants, dates, items, quantities, prices, discounts, taxes, totals, categories, tags, and notes.
• Budgets, notification preferences, currency settings, and other app preferences.
• Corrections you make to item names or categories so the app can remember them for future receipts.
• Spending summaries shared locally with ReceiptStub widgets, Shortcuts, and Control Centre controls.

This information remains within the app and its private Apple App Group container on your device.

Free Scan Counter

ReceiptStub includes a limited number of free scans. The number of free scans already used is stored in the Apple Keychain to prevent the free allowance from resetting when the app is deleted and reinstalled. This counter may remain on the device after the app is deleted.

The counter contains only a number. It does not contain receipt content, images, contact information, an advertising identifier, or any other information that identifies you. It uses a device-only Keychain accessibility class and is not included in device backups or synced to other devices.

Camera and Photo Library

ReceiptStub requests camera access so you can photograph receipts and photo-library access so you can choose an existing receipt image. Access is used only when you initiate these actions. Selected images are processed on your device and are not transmitted to us. You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Face ID and Device Authentication

If you enable the app lock, ReceiptStub asks iOS to authenticate you using Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. Biometric matching is handled entirely by the operating system. ReceiptStub cannot access or store your biometric data.

Notifications

If you enable budget alerts, ReceiptStub may schedule local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated locally and are not sent through a developer-operated push-notification server.

In-App Purchases

ReceiptStub offers an optional non-consumable purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and applies its own privacy policy. ReceiptStub receives product information and a verified purchase-entitlement status from StoreKit, but we do not receive or store your card number, bank details, or App Store password.

Exporting and Sharing

ReceiptStub lets you create a PDF export of your receipts. An export leaves the app only when you choose a destination using the iOS share sheet. After you share or save an export to another app or service, that destination's privacy practices apply.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete individual receipts or use the in-app delete option to remove saved receipts, receipt images, learned corrections, tags, budgets, and related local app data. Deleting the app also removes its regular local storage. As explained above, the non-identifying free-scan counter may remain in the Apple Keychain after deletion or reinstallation.

Data Security

ReceiptStub relies on iOS application sandboxing, Apple data-protection mechanisms, and optional device authentication to protect locally stored information. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should keep your device and operating system protected and up to date.

Children's Privacy

ReceiptStub does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if ReceiptStub's features or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
